User Experience
Virtual Tour Wedding Venue Search
- What
- A virtual wedding venue search platform that allows users to explore venues at any location through immersive virtual tours. The website also offers a suite of additional services — from vendor coordination to event logistics — creating a seamless, one-stop solution for wedding planning.
- Where & Who
- Targeted to users across Canada, the platform primarily serves individuals aged 19–40 planning weddings, with a secondary focus on those aged 40–60, including second-time couples or involved parents.
- When
- February 2023 to May 2023
- My Role
- UX designer leading the app and responsive website design from conception to delivery.
- How
- I conducted user research and interviews, created paper and digital wireframes, built low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and ran usability tests. Accessibility was a key focus throughout, with continuous iteration based on user feedback.

Project Goal
Design a website that offers virtual tours and reliable venue information, enabling users to confidently book wedding locations without visiting in person. The platform also connects users to a network of trusted vendors, supporting a seamless, one-stop wedding planning experience.
Research Summary
To gain insight into user needs and behaviors, I conducted interviews and created personas and empathy maps. The primary user group consisted of individuals aged 19 to late 30s who were planning to get married, with a secondary group of users in their 40s to 60s, including second-time couples or family members helping with planning.
Key findings from the research identified the following user priorities:
1) Ease of planning – Users wanted a stress-free, intuitive experience with minimal back-and-forth. 2) Reliable information – Accurate venue details and virtual tours were critical to building trust. 3) One-stop convenience – Users preferred platforms that allowed them to manage all aspects of wedding planning in one place, from booking venues to connecting with vendors.
